Job Description – Global Trade Officer

We are seeking an experienced Global Trade (GT) Officer to join our team! Reporting to the Senior Manager Accounting & Control. The ideal candidate will be familiar with both export and import regulations of the Netherlands and be familiar with HS, ECCN classifications and required customs processes. Having a technical, analytical mind or engineering background would be preferable.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Working under/within the following EU, NL and U.S. Regulations; Export Administration Regulation (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and HTS
• Coordination and interpreting the product information to enable the classification of the parts
• Be able to align business objectives with Global Trade objectives
• Perform Jurisdiction and Classification (J/C) analysis and validation (resolution of JC escalation, supplier issues, etc.)
• Perform HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classifications.
• Develop the framework for determining country of origin
• Support investigations and reviews of possible export and import compliance activities.
• Analyze business needs (including technology needs) with respect to export authorization requirements
• Support implementation of processes, work instructions and business activities to ensure the correct classification and determination of JC, HS codes and Country of Origin.
• Support shipping of documents/parts/tools/demo equipment to mainly international destinations with a focus on accurate administration and documentation

Basic Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of relevant experience with technical product information or engineering details

Preferred Qualifications:

• Engineering and/or technical background
• Project management
• Proven ability to deliver
• Experience with classifications under the World Customs Organization (WCO) Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) is a pre
• Experience with US Export (classification) Regulations; specifically, the EAR and the Commerce Control List (CCL), ITAR and the United States Munitions List (USML)
• 1-3 years working with Global Trade and related export classification matters
