    Global Innovation Manager Contract Logistics

    As Global Innovation Manager Contract Logistics you will be responsible for the global development and coordination of the Innovation function within the business unit Contract Logistics

    You'll focus on the digital innovation part, on the software. Ideally you'll bring along experience in software, as well as hardware and experience in logistics.

    Definition and Development:

    • Standard solutions through understanding current business needs (problem statements) and future customer/market needs
    • Strategic innovations based upon market research – highly orientated towards data-based technologies, digitalisation and AI
    • Develop and own the technology roadmap for future Innovation studies
    • Develop and own the digital roadmap for future Innovation studies


    Support and Guidance:

    • Support local teams in their innovative developments
    • Organise and facilitate Innovation workshops to understand customer needs, problem statements, 3rd party solutions, academic and industry areas of research
    • “Best practice know-how transfer” across operations within a service, and knowledge transfer around KN regarding the ready to deploy solutions (CS+PS)
    • Support proof of concept of future standard solutions


    Review and Challenge:

    • Innovative solutions upon request of regional or local teams
    • New customer proposals to validate, challenge and support inclusion of innovative solutions as applicable
    • New problem statements on impact and scalability

    Coordination and Collaboration

    • Cross functional collaboration, especially with the Customer Solutions, Production System, Operations and Customer Development teams to define the projects that need direct involvement and support
    • With other Product Management to align joint topics and strategies
    • With existing customer operations to facilitate the adoption of the best practice when meaningful for the customer and KN
    • Cross business unit team player, representing Contract Logistics in the Group innovation community

    Leadership and Relationships

    • The global Innovation Centre in Singapore and the teams working within them
    • Direct team members of the innovation team in Singapore
    • The Innovation Centre as focal points for internal and customer Creativity / Design-Thinking type workshops based on developing new innovation solutions
    • Relationships with 3rd parties, e.g. academic institutions and consultants to get input and expertise
    • Proofs of concept to demonstrate value and create Standard solutions

    Jouw skills en ervaringen

    • Operational management experience, or logistics consultant experience ideally 7+ years
    • Meaningful direct experience (5+ years) in a Contract Logistics environment, with a preference for this being in Solutions Design / Engineering
    • Visionary view on Logistics – strategic thinker
    • Capability to interpret strategic guidelines and convert into development roadmaps
    • Ability to research future trends and translate this to valuable insight and needed future solutions
    • Experience in developing or piloting new-technologies in an R&D-type environment, with a background in industry or consulting
    • Collaborative yet assertive approach
    • Seasoned experience of working in a geographically and culturally diverse company
    • Strong communicator/influencer at senior level
    • Willingness to travel extensively at short notice
    • Service and Customer Excellence mindset
    • Fluent English with strong written communication skills #LI-SK1
