Purpose: To lead the incubation and acceleration of new digital solutions through leadership of Arcadis’s Digital Studio, creating new digital solutions that support Arcadis’s growth strategy and mission to improve quality of life, by delivering new revenue through business model innovation.

Key responsibilities: The Global Digital Innovation Director is responsible for leading the development of new digital solutions for Arcadis by continuously exploring new possibilities offered by internal and external innovative technologies and business models, by matching them with client needs, and by accelerating market introduction of ideas with highest commercial potential.
The Global Digital Innovation Director will lead and manage Arcadis’s Digital Studio, an acceleration unit for testing, validating, and prototyping new digital solutions that support the delivery of Arcadis’s strategy. A deep understanding of innovation best practices and lean start-up techniques. The candidate is also detail and task-oriented as this role requires the team member to think strategically, taking new solutions from idea to prototype (potentially MVP) through Arcadis’ Digital Studio and working collaboratively with Arcadis’s Global Business Areas and Arcadis Gen to gear up for market launch and implementation at scale.
The team culture is innovative, creative, and fast-paced. Members of the team need to be adaptive and thrive in an ambiguous environment and as the leader of this team, the candidate is expected to coach and develop a high-performing team.
At a minimum, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and a demonstrated ability to operate independently, adapt, think strategically, and understand the impact of actions and decisions.
It is essential that he/she feels naturally comfortable and is able to thrive in a fast-paced and continually evolving environment and have the gravitas, experience, and resilience to leads a driven, demanding team with a “can and will” do attitude. Importantly as he/she will need to be equally comfortable operating at the board level and also with “getting your hands dirty” working alongside a driven, committed, and ambitious team.
Ideally, the candidate should have significant experience as a leader in innovation combined with an excellent understanding of client needs. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and creative team player with a passion for innovation and technology advancement. They bring extensive experience in developing new digital solutions through working with internal and external partners.

Experience of innovation best practice, lean start-up methodology, SaFE, and the application of these methodologies in practice.
Deep understanding of existing and emerging technology.
Strong people leadership skills, ability to coach and mentor (within and beyond immediate team).
Complex stakeholder engagement and management skills.
Grow and develop an inclusive and diverse culture to ensure the business understands the value of innovation and exploration.
Identify and develop collaborative objectives for ecosystem partnerships together with the Global Business Areas to drive strategic impact for Arcadis.
Support the Global Innovation & Ecosystems Officer with developing and executing the Innovation & Ecosystem strategy, including clear communications planning for internal and external audiences relating to Arcadis’s Digital Studio.
