We are looking for a talented Financial Accountant to join Sympower's Finance team where you will be involved in a broad range of activities across several different countries.
As our organisation is growing rapidly (currently 80+ people - expected to double in the next 12-18 months) we need to further professionalise our finance department. The next major steps are to bring financial processes in-house, to go live in our new accounting / ERP platform (NetSuite) and to further grow the finance team. We have a relatively small finance team, so you will be involved in a broad range of accounting activities across different countries.

What you’ll do
Manage accounting activities, and help to shape and organise our accounting team
Responsible for daily financial transactions, bookkeeping activities and financial reporting
Become our internal NetSuite champion and help to implement changes and optimise this platform
Support and monitor local accountants in each of our countries; cooperate on bringing bookkeeping activities in-house
Monitor accuracy and completeness of monthly group financial statements and ensure that these statements comply with relevant GAAP and other regulatory requirements
Prepare accounts and tax returns (in cooperation with local specialists)
Manage annual report and audit processes
Continuously define process updates to ensure that the finance team becomes more efficient and adds value to the entire organization
Ad-hoc analysis for management
Bachelor/Master’s degree in Finance/Business/Economics or similar
5+ years of relevant accounting experience
Eager to learn, hands-on and proactive mentality
Highly organised team player with a keen eye for detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Good understanding of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and NetSuite, or similar accounting platform
Able to work from our Amsterdam office at least 3-4 days per week
Availability to work on a full time basis
