Reporting to the Global Corporate Communications Director, this corporate communications role focuses on all activities to support the development of Arcadis’ profile and reputation with external stakeholders including the media, clients, partner-organizations, stakeholders, and third-party influencers. Activities will include media relations, content creation, PR, media monitoring, drafting of press releases, interview support, events, as well as providing advice to senior leadership and internal stakeholders.
To support the Global Corporate Communications Director in leading the overall strategic direction of Arcadis globally in corporate communications and content creation.
To develop newsworthy Arcadis content, including thought leadership reports and related collateral, opinions, viewpoints, case studies and press materials.
To proactively identify issues on which Arcadis can comment or develop a view on, coordinating a response with the businesses leading experts and ensuring desired coverage is achieved.
To enhance and protect Arcadis’ corporate reputation incl. managing crisis response issues, response comms strategy and execution.
To act as the primary contact for media enquiries, liaising with colleagues to provide information and coordinate interviews to deliver an efficient and appropriate response.
To establish relationships with, and understanding of, target media across different industry sectors, national and regional.
To establish strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, deputizing for the Global Corporate Communications Director where necessary.
To provide advice and coaching to senior management; ensuring they are prepared to deal with the media and that any written content is in line with Arcadis’ view.
To provide editorial direction across all written content, ensuring consistency of Arcadis tone of voice and brand messaging.
To define appropriate reporting metrics and record outputs of corporate communications activities for internal reporting.
Protect, promote and enhance Arcadis’ corporate reputation.
Support senior leadership in scouting, preparing and managing media opportunities such as interviews.
Media and social media monitoring.
Produce high-quality written media content.
Co-manage Arcadis direct, day-to-day relationships with national and trade journalists, ensuring Arcadis is the go-to commentator on key themes.
Support the development of digital content that delivers increasing levels of engagement across key external audiences.
Improve the visibility of the Arcadis brand in line with clear deliverable and measures.
Work together with the (marketing) communications team to translate campaigns and client (project) cases into relevant, newsworthy content – targeting key audience groups for use across various Arcadis platforms.
Provide editorial oversight of all written content to ensure consistency of brand, message and tone of voice.

Further required competencies and experiences:
7 – 10 years corporate communications and content creation experience either in-house or agency across multiple geographies.
Educated to degree level.
CIM or CIPR qualification or equivalent desirable.
Communications skills – high quality of written and oral communication; passion for storytelling.
A strategic thinker with strong interest in current affairs.
A curious mind that understands business – ability to translate commercial business goals into ideas that can generate publicity.
Proven track record in producing content that has generated high quality media coverage in trade and national media.
Experience of working in a demanding corporate environment, on a broad range of topics, with a great variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Experience in managing media relations.
Strong interest in social media and professional experience in creating content for use on social channels (organic and paid).
Business skills - experience in liaising with senior business executives and other internal stakeholders, strong business acumen, ability to provide a strategic link between communications activities, brand and business goals.
