    We are looking for a new colleague who’s going to have a double role. On the one hand you will coordinate work packages and scheduling for the Creative Business program and on the other hand you will help out with all kinds of support tasks for our new master Sustainable Business Transition.

    A day in the life of an education coordinator

    At 8:30 you open up your laptop from home. We work in a hybrid form so, unless there are meetings or tasks that require you to be physically at the HU, you can choose to work from home or at our shared office at the Heidelberglaan 15. You start with opening your email and check if there are urgent messages from the Creative Business team. There are a few questions from lecturers about their work packages. A student has emailed as well, concerning the delay in his program. He made a plan with his Study Coach and needs your help to register for the right courses and classes in OSIRIS so he can follow the lessons of his individual route. After the mailbox you have a meeting with the management team from CB to discuss the work packages. You prepared the agenda for this meeting yesterday and you will take minutes during the meeting. Afterwards you process the work package changes in Xedule (our planning system) and discuss possible solutions in the timetable with the scheduling department for a lecturer who needs to be replaced due to illness. There is one more email to be sent to the exam board; a new lecturer has to be registered as an examiner. You give them all the information they need, and now it’s time for your lunchbreak! You go for a walk to clear your head and start fresh in the afternoon.

    Because the master is a new program and is still very small, you support them in a broader sense. You start up Canvas, which is our online learning system where lecturers and students can find all content, homework, presentations etc. You set up new pages for the lecturers, and they fill them with the content that’s needed. Next, you prepare evaluations for one of the courses of the masters in Evalytics and another course has already been evaluated, so you make the report for the management team. Following that, you have a meeting with some supporting departments in the HU discussing the graduation ceremony that’s coming up in two months. Finally you answer a few more questions from staff about the master’s exams. That’s it for today! Tomorrow you will go to the HU and meet your fellow education coordinator colleagues. It’s always nice to have a moment together and discuss the things you encounter in your job.

    What do we offer you?

    The Creative Business (CB) bachelor program is a true success story in internationaleducation. In only a few years we have doubled in student numbers and colleagues who all come from across the globe. You will have approximately 80 colleagues and we have a student population of approximately 1300.     In this role you will become a part of the support department from CB. There are four other education coordinators and two management assistants. Together you make sure the staff and students have everything they need to successfully teach or learn the program.

    • A contract for 0.6 fte on a temporary contract for one year (D4); to be renewed for an indefinite period in case of positive assessment;
    • The gross salary for a full-time position starts at € 2.756,90 maximum € 3691,27 (instructor 2, scale 8);

    • In addition, according to the collective labor agreement for HBO, you will receive a holiday allowance of 8% and a guaranteed year-end bonus of 8.3%;

    What do you have to offer?

    We are looking for someone who fits our international, open, warm and ambitious team. You have to love puzzles, because you will definitely have to put impossible pieces together sometimes. Also it is important that you like to work in a dynamic and vibrant work environment, and are not easily stressed. We are looking for an easy-going colleague who is good in overseeing things and thinks ahead. You are good in prioritizing and like to work proactively. Also we would like you to have:

    • Mbo or hbo level;
    • Experience in a position involved in planning, scheduling or other administrative tasks;
    • Experience with Excel;
    • A very good English and Dutch proficiency.
