    Disease Awareness Representative

    IQVIA is looking for a Disease Awareness Representative with a healthcare/medical background, to work in partnership with a growing biopharmaceutical company.

    The Disease Awareness Representative (DAR) is a field-based expert that strategically drives patient diagnosis and referral objectives for selected programs in the Netherlands, with a focus on hereditary ATTR amyloidosis (hATTR), and at a later stage also Primary Hyperoxaluria Type 1 (PH1) and Acute Hepatic Porphyria (AHP). The DAR will be primarily accountable for developing and implementing account plans in their designated territory to optimize diagnosis and referral of new patients to national expert centres.

    The DAR is expected to execute territory specific account plans in the context of the overall product strategy and in close alignment and collaboration with territory partners, while ensuring full compliance with all relevant company, industry, legal, regulatory and ethical standards.

    Summary of Key Responsibilities

    • The DAR will work as part of an established territory team to target relevant Healthcare Professionals to raise awareness of hATTR, PH1 and AHP with the overall objective to improve early diagnosis and referral to specialist treatment centres.
    • Serve as disease state expert & provide high-level customer service for referring accounts
    • Understand the educational needs of referring physicians, nurses and pharmacists to create optimal level of disease awareness
    • Identify and follow up on targeted potential opportunities with healthcare professionals
    • Drive patient identification, diagnosis and referral rates by executing against a territory strategy and account specific plans in conjunction with territory Commercial Lead and Country Manager
    • Strategically network within the country cross-functional team to segment and prioritize referral centres to ensure patients have access to available treatment
    • Perseverance and an entrepreneurial drive to pursue ideas and projects that ensure sustainable, long term success
    • Effectively prioritize time, activities, and resources to optimize accounts with the greatest potential
    • Deliver agreed KPI’s and call targets, effectively and efficiently
    • Ensure effective engagement with referral decision makers within the territory
    • Utilize CRM system to document account profiles, pre and post call activities and territory planning
    • Present a positive image of the company and develop awareness about RNAi platform to relevant customer groups
    • Conduct all activities to highest ethical standards in accordance with the CGR code of practice and local laws and regulations
    • The DAR will develop a close working relationship with territory partners (Commercial Lead, Field Business Lead and Medical Manager) to ensure information sharing and support clear patient referral pathways
    • Significant travel in country as required


    Qualifications

    • Hospital experience in bio/pharmaceutical sales - specialty therapy or rare disease would be advantageous
    • Effective communication and influencing skills to engage with professionals at all organizational levels
    • Demonstrable ability to work with digital communication platforms
    • Strong business acumen to add value to the existing health care structures
    • Ability to draw on previous experiences and insights to generate and maintain appropriate awareness and timely access to treatment
    • Ability to travel within a territory on a regular basis and must hold a valid driver's license
    • Excellent organizational and computer skills
    • Life Science degree preferred
    • Experience in Neurology, Cardiology, Nephrology or Gastroenterology is advantageous
