    Decarbonization of the industry

    Company Introduction
Royal HaskoningDHV is a global engineering, project management and consultancy firm with 6000 colleagues in 140 countries. We are all committed to working with clients and partners on projects that have a positive impact on people, the living environment, and the economy. And that for 140 years.

We are commercially savvy engineers, project managers and consultants who design smart cities, airports, ports, buildings and more. We reinvent industries; co-create clean energy and fresh water by using smart data and digitizing information flows and models. We are increasingly connecting the digital with the real world at an ever-faster pace. In collaboration with our customers and partners, we use data and algorithms to translate insights into forecasts. We help our customers in their digital transformation, and we support our customers' business with a better and faster execution of their ambitions.

    Task description
The IPCC is very clear, greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced quickly. And there is an important role for industry in this, especially in the Netherlands. We therefore see an increasing demand for advice on decarbonisation of industry, often focused on their energy infrastructure.

To serve our customers better, we are looking for an intern who likes to improve our techno-economic calculation model. With this model we want to support our industrial partners in converting their natural gas supply to sustainable alternatives (e/H2/biogas boilers, heat pumps) by providing insights into the business cases for these sustainable technologies. The model will be checked by engineers within RHDHV and deployed in projects from our customers. With this internship you contribute to speeding up the energy transition.

During your internship you will get an insight into aspects play a part in the decarbonisation of industry. How a business case for energy supplies is established, but also which preconditions play a role in the selection for more sustainable alternatives. So, will you join us with your modelling skills to accelerate the energy transition in the industry?

    About the internship
