ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a recent graduate to join our Netherlands office in a data analyst/consultancy role. You will have studied a highly numerate degree at a good university and/or have some relevant experience under your belt. You will be part of a small team setting out to build our business in various markets throughout the World. This will mean that you are comfortable with the ambiguity and wide spectrum of tasks required in an early stage business which will include quick turnaround of initial analyses, development of customer specific analytics tools, implementation of software and a general willingness to give things a try even though success is never guaranteed.
It is also important that you can become confident enough to discuss these findings with a client and work on location to make the recommendations stick. You will ideally have some programming experience, and are excited as part of the journey to learn new tools / software languages such as Python, SQL & Power BI.
As part of the role you are happy to travel extensively for work, often within the Netherlands or Europe but at times as well to other parts of the world. As part of your induction you will spend a week in Singapore to get to understand our business, people and product lines.
SKILLS / CAPABILITY REQUIRED
Given the breadth of the role, we would never expect anyone to be experienced in all aspects. A lot will have to be learned whilst doing. However, ultimately the role requires the person to become competent in the following:
Good analytical problem solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to think strategically about the business of our clients and an ability to link the data available to their business issues and how the potential insights can help them make better decisions.
A good working knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint & strong maths skills (NB: a basic Excel test will be part of the recruitment process and the interview will focus on problem solving and numerical skills).
A fondness of, or attraction to, coding and learning to the extent required (NB: you are not expected to be a programmer but need to be able to work through issues using Excel, Power BI and Python).
A general willingness to figure it out when faced with something new.
