    Communication Officer - Student Recruitment and Information...

    We are looking for a communication officer who can support the organization of our national and international recruitment and information activities. You will be working in a small team that operates in a big organization, which is always on the move. For many international prospective students, you will be the first person to interact with us via various channels on behalf of our Faculty. As your tasks will be diverse, you will need to combine your organizational skills to manage ongoing projects, and at the same time be able to pick up other tasks quickly. You are familiar with working in an international setting, find it easy to communicate with people from different layers in an organization, and are a fast learner.

    The recruitment and information events officer will offer will responsible for and support with;

    • answering general questions of prospective students (BSc and MSc) through email
    • maintaining and analysing email leads database
    • creating and managing newsletters
    • coordination of and participation in (online) recruitment events
    • help creating various information material for prospective BSc and MSc students (printed, digital, online)
    • coördinating campus tours
    • co-managing our social media channels
    • variety of other supporting tasks and projects in our team when needed.

    Qualifications

    We are looking for a communications officer with a high degree of flexibility and creative thinking, preferably with some experience in recruitment and information events. As such, you:

    • have completed an hbo education, preferably in the direction of marketing and communication or in a science direction with a minor/subsidiary subject in communication
    • are a team worker who can work independently and has good organizational skills
    • have a service-oriented attitude
    • are stress-resistant and can easily switch between different tasks and projects
    • have good communication skills
    • have an excellent command of the English and Dutch languages
    • are familiar with social media.

    Organisation

    The Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) is home to a wide variety of science disciplines. Research and education programmes range from nanomaterials and biomachines to astronomy, from mathematics to pharmacy, from neuroscience to computing science, and from molecular and evolutionary biology to marine biology.

    Education support within FSE is provided by the School of Science and Engineering (SSE). Within the Office of the SSE, team members of Student Recruitment and Information Events are responsible for national and international recruitment and the organization of information activities for prospective students.

    Conditions of employment

    We offer you in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:

    • a salary depending on age, education, and experience of a minimum of € 2,818 to a maximum of € 3,764 (scale 8) gross per month for full working hours
    • a holiday allowance of 8% gross annual income
    • an 8.3% end-of-the-year allowance.

    The first two months count as a probationary period. The position is classified in UFO profile: Communication officer 2 (scale 8).

    Date of employment: as soon as possible.

    This concerns an appointment of 0.7 FTE until September 30, 2023. Depending on developments in our organization, a permanent contract might be possible.
