    About the job

    The Commodity Buyer Turbo is responsible for the realization of an approved vendor list and supplier strategy for its commodity. He has a leading role in the development of the suppliers from the initial contact until the approval of the supplier as part of the approved vendor list. Specific knowledge of customer specific requirements for assigned customers is necessary.

    Job requirements

    • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • Purchase management training, i.e. APICS
    • Fundamental technical knowledge;
    • Ability to analyze and understand (business) processes;
    • English and German Language;
    • Product knowledge of turbocharger components;
    • Knowledge of (potential) supplier market for the above mentioned components;
    • The ability to operate a PC including mainstream software like MS-office, Windows and experience with ERP systems;
    • Understanding of the MHI Group organization including document control and sharing with other MHI Group companies;
    • Understanding of company rules, quality procedures and health safety and environment rules and regulations (HSSE);
    • Legal understanding when making agreements, contracts with Suppliers and the ability to judge the (legal) impact of certain agreements with suppliers;
    • Excellent communication skills which enable to steer and guide suppliers and/or colleagues in a clear and motivating manner.
    • The ability to communicate and present (escalation) items towards (senior) management in an adequate and professional manner.
