We are looking for a CAD Leader who will work independently in a project and/or pre-project teams within the project center in North Europe (for large L3/L3+ projects). Within this position, you will take technical decisions and will be responsible for technical solutions while overseeing the work of your team and making sure that everyone is working effectively and efficiently. Acting as Design Owner/ System Platform Owner/ Super User is part of the responsibilities.
You will be based in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Other countries included in the job can be France (Paris), and Belgium (Brussels).
What you will do
As a CAD Leader L3/L3+ you will be responsible for:
Working directly with project teams to manage the coordination of multi-disciplinary models across multiple project stakeholders (taking ownership of the “main” file)
Manage and coordinate the work of multiple CAD designers (both internal and external and located at different locations), also creating process installation drawings, if necessary.
Take ownership of the full 3D Design in the L3/L3+ project and manage the full scope and timing of this part of the project – creating the resource needs to keep the project timeline
Responsible for technical solutions in L3/L3+ projects
Assuming and taking ownership of the project delivery process
Monitor the quality process of the 3D Design
(integration of different suppliers, risk assessment requirements, ...)
Manage and lead technical discussions with customers and subsuppliers related to 3D design
Validating/reviewing technical solutions in L3/L3+ projects
Installation qualification support to the project if required by the project manager
Acting as differentiators between counterparties or other competition.
Providing support to pre-projects with respect to 3D CAD estimations
(budget, planning, ...) for the Project Centre if requested
Providing support in issue and claim resolution including root cause analysis in L3/L3+ projects if requested
Building a network with consulting companies/people to be able to react quickly to rising demand
Develop, implement and monitor CAD design standards and procedures to meet customer needs.
Initiate and maintain contact with clients for clarification, coordination, and negotiation of critical issues.
Identify opportunities and recommendations for increasing workflow efficiencies.
Recommend & share best practices for solutions to meet customer business needs.
Evaluate team members for their technical skills, performance, and productivity.
Maintain documentation records of generated design deliverables.
Acting as an ambassador for Tetra Pak.
We believe you have
Engineering Or Science University Degree.
An expert technical solution in line with Tetra Pak Strategy, standards, guidelines, tools, and methods for process design.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in 3D Design and preferably already some experience in leading a team of 3D engineers (from different countries).
Knowledge of the platforms for designing process installations in a 3D environment (AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks, Vault, a plus: Intergraph Smart 3D, CADWorx).
Knowledge about designing process installations, pipe routing, and creating machine layouts (nice to have: experience in calculating pipeline stresses, designing pipe racks and platforms).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and/or French are a pre.
Knowledge of discussion platforms like Teams, Webex, etc. for communicating with the team, customers, and suppliers.
Lead and drive improvements on guidelines, tools, and methods.
Self-direction, ability to prioritize, and excellent organizational abilities.
Creative problem solver who is flexible and open to new ideas and new approaches.
Effective with working independently, in multiple teams, and in cross-functional environment.
