We are looking for A Business Development Manager to join the world’s no.2 offshore wind developer as part of a large renewable organisation. This role aims to secure a large market share and take a leading role in the sector. The right candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset and in-depth knowledge of the offshore wind industry. A proven track record and successful reputation will be the key to their ambitious plan. This key hire will be responsible for the development partnerships, consortium, and customers to strengthen the company’s reputation in the French offshore wind sector. The overarching aim of the role will be identify and create opportunities to win offshore wind farm development auctions. The candidate must be a broad thinker, who can take strategic decisions through to the creation and implementation of a detailed business case. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to assess and present information in a clear and convincing manner is essential, combined with a proven ability to establish relationships with key stakeholders in several jurisdictions if appropriate.
Your future plans
Dynamically develop close contacts with existing and potential partners and other relevant parties in the offshore wind sector;
Assess attractiveness of offshore opportunities and provide market intelligence and data to support investment decisions;
Influence the market/partners in early phase discussions providing various solutions in order to create favourable opportunities in offshore wind tenders;
Negotiate partnership setups, scope and responsibility, and governance of collaboration structures, coordinate pre-qualification process when required.
Analyse key competitors and their bidding strategy;
Build and lead a proactive, action orientated, winning team culture;
Engage and align with internal stakeholders, departments and the respective project leads and teams on the offshore side;
Assist with the representation of RWE Renewables at local and regional stakeholder events, in networks and towards respective authorities;
Your powerful skills
Experienced and established professional in the offshore wind sector;
Excellent commercial experience, combined with market analysis, program management and leadership skills;
Experienced at contributing to strategic planning for new markets and identifying value chain opportunities;
Ability to negotiate with a range of potential partners, including development partners;
Ability to maintain sight of the ‘big picture’ and overarching objectives;
Experience in management of programme and budgets and reporting activities to senior executive and Board level;
Fluent in English & Dutch. French is a plus.
