Breakfast Service Employee (m/f/x)

To support our team at the a&o Hostel Amsterdam we are looking for YOU - a reliable employee in the breakfast service (m/f/x).

This job is initially limited to 3 months, with the option of an extension for a further 3 months.
This position is available part-time (5 days a 6 hours or 4 a days 8 hours) and/or full-time 40 hours.

We also welcome applicants with knowledge from/as: bakery, bake shop, gas station shop, McDonald, Subway, barista, cook, kitchen assistants, takeaway, bar staff, snack bar or career changers who enjoy giving our guests a special experience!

YOUR JOB

• You will be responsible for ensuring a full breakfast service during the opening hours of the buffet – this means:
• The preparation of breakfast is your main responsibility
• During service, you will keep track of various checklists and the temperature of offered dished
• To give our guests a good start into their day, you will offer hosting-services and attend to their needs
• Following buffet-hours, you will ensure kitchen, buffet and dining room are left neat and tidy
• The foundation of a good breakfast is a full pantry, so you always have to take care of stockings and orders
• If necessary you will be glad to work also in diner shifts (at this moment in rare cases)

YOUR PROFILE

• For an early bird like you its second nature to be cheerful and good-humoured, even in the early hours of the day
• Experience in the service-industry is an advantage, but more importantly, you are motivated and enthusiastic
• You have a great sense of responsibility for the tasks you are given
• Our work setting is constantly changing, so having a flexible attitude is absolutely imperative
• Since shifts start early (5:00 AM), living in Amsterdam or surrounding residential areas is ideal
• You are a team player – working in a team, or leading it, comes natural to you
• Good English skills are a must, Dutch skills are highly preferred, knowledge of additional languages is an advantage
