    BI Architect

    New Balance is looking for a BI Architect to join our EMEA IT team. As a BI Architect, you will be part of a fast paced and dynamic IT team creating and maintaining efficient data solutions for business challenges. You will be leading, developing and championing data analytics, strategies, and solutions to improve the quality and value of our data analytics offering to the business.

    You will work closely with different application and internal business owners to turn data into information and knowledge that supports and helps business teams drive improvement in key business metrics, customer experience and business results.


    • Design complex BI reports/dashboards translating data into informative visuals and reports
    • Continuously work with business community to ensure that suite of offered reports satisfy expectations for data latency, report performance and ease of use. Deliver effective, high value reporting solutions by leveraging the established delivery methodology
    • Partner with data engineering and other technical teams to design and implement BI data store, effectively manage BI infrastructure and ensure data consistency for BI purposes
    • Support existing BI environment which includes multiple data sources, multiple BI technologies, large data volumes and large user community. Continuously drive toward simplicity, automation, user self-service
    • Lead discussions with business and/or IT management to define business requirements for new business needs. Model business and systems processes based on findings through use case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data models.
    • Provide on-call support outside normal business hours as needed
    • Identifies obstacles and seeks assistance when needed. Provide status updates to management and project stakeholders
    • Deliver on time, on budget and with high quality
    • Demonstrate technical ability, thoroughness and accuracy in all assignments
    • Ensure that proper standards, policies and procedures are followed. Contribute to the development standards and BI best practices.
    • Keep current on latest BI and analytical tools and recommend the right tools when required
    • Evaluate vendor presentations and lead implementation of new BI and analytical tools
    • Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork and open communication.
    • Mentor and/or coach junior team members


    • Extensive combined experience on data management, data warehousing, architecting end to end solutions with BI tools at an enterprise level
    • Experience on data visualisation tools like Tibco Spotfire or Power BI
    • Ability to define the BI architecture framework, standard and principles, deploy and systemic maintenance of the BI tools
    • Provide strategic architectural direction for BI and data science projects
    • Strong knowledge of SQL
    • Experience in managing/maintaining enterprise level BI platforms
    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
    • Basic knowledge of statistical concepts and data science techniques
    • Experience with deploying modern data solutions in a cloud computing environment leveraging components like Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Data Lake, DataBricks and Snowflake data warehouse will be a plus
    • Basic knowledge of Python
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
