We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director Commercial.
Purpose of the position
You will need to ensure that an optimal commercial strategy for all products during the entire product life cycle is implemented while delivering value to both our organisation and the customer. Analysing highly complex problems and situations and provide recommendations and setting priorities in circumstances of continued complex and conflicting requirements.
You will lead a team of (3) Key Account Managers (KAM) and a Brand & Customer Manager (BCM), to ensure optimal engagement and experience of customers and execution of the strategy. You will identify accounts/target areas with the biggest potential as defined in the Opportunity Spaces and leading to the Business ambition. You will work with the team to create learning plans and recommends training and development solutions and provides mentoring and coaching.
Furthermore, you will be accountable for forecast planning and matching demand and financial planning, managing operating budgets and overseeing expense management processes. You will also oversee the demand planning & OTC process to ensure optimal product availability to our customers. You will need to give strategic direction and execute on commercial offerings, to support in achieving / exceeding sales targets and agreed OKR's for our business. You will develop a commercial framework for all products that are part of our commercial offering to customers. You will be responsible for establishing solid procedures on contracting which are in line with the internal compliance rules. You will be responsible to give direction to and execution of Loss of Exclusivity management.
Key Result Areas & Tasks
Accountable for forecasting and financial-demand alignment process
Responsible for development local Customer Engagement strategy
Define strategic commercial plan for Key products based on commercial offering linked to value based pricing;
Work in multidisciplinary internal teams to support in building rationales and business cases and commercial models;
Works closely with the Franchise leads in achieving commercial opportunities;
Analyze and develop innovative commercial opportunities, carefully weigh pros and cons;
Solve complex pricing challenges taking multiple stakeholder interest into account;
Managing contracting database and tracking KPI’s which enables us to offer “best in class propositions” to our customers;
Evaluate strategies and optimize;
Cross Functional collaboration
Leverages resources to deliver the best results
Collaboration with the franchises to ensure that relevant Key Accounts are in scope to maximize commercial results
Builds with the KAM team a network of contacts with all key stakeholders related to the portfolio;
Collaborates with Digital & Data & Design & Finance department
Responsible for development and performance management of direct reports
Networking relationship building
Maps, in collaboration with other colleagues working with the account, influencing patterns within the key accounts and targets the right stakeholders at the right time
Establishes a high degree of credibility with external and internal stakeholders
University degree (MD, pharmacist, pharmaco-economist, life-sciences)
At least 5-year experience in strategic contracting/pricing, preferably in in the pharmaceutical industry. FMCG, Retail, Medical Devices or Biotech can also be interesting.
Knowledge of the health system, reimbursement system and pricing principles is highly preferred
Data & Analytical skills
Strong business sense and entrepreneurial spirit

Fluency in Dutch and English
