    Are you an enthusiastic scientist and teacher with expertise in qualitative empirical research? Then you have a part to play as an assistant professor. With your cutting edge research on responsible organisations you will be able to inspire our students.     The Department of Business Administration at the Nijmegen School of Management is looking for an Assistant Professor to strengthen our Responsible Organisation programme. More specifically, we are looking for candidates with expertise in qualitative empirical research methodology as used in the social and management sciences. You will be part of the Research and Intervention Methodology chair group.

    Are you willing to contribute to the further development of our research and teaching programmes? Are you the committed academic who is able to inspire our students with cutting-edge research on responsible organisation? If yes, you will be tasked with teaching in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Business Administration, conducting research in line with the Responsible Organisation programme, publishing in international high-quality journals, attracting external grants/funding for research projects, acquiring and supervising PhD projects, building international networks with businesses and academics, and contributing to the department's administration and management. This assistant professor position requires an aptitude for research methods and a strong track record in high-impact publications on our core themes, as well as a heart for teaching. Above all, we are seeking a highly motivated, committed and collaborative candidate with a cooperative attitude and strong team skills.

    Profile

    • You have expertise in qualitative empirical research methodology as used in the social and management sciences.
    • You have a PhD degree in business administration, management or organisation studies.
    • You have a pipeline of publications and an excellent reputation, evidenced by publications in internationally recognised high-quality journals.
    • You have a track record in attracting research funding, or the desire and ambition to do so.
    • You have ample teaching experience, proven effective teaching skills, the capacity to develop and implement innovative teaching methods, and proven ability to supervise the development and implementation of academic study programmes. A Dutch university teaching qualification (BKO or UKO) or equivalent would be an advantage.
    • You have a proven ability to inspire and supervise young academics (PhD candidates).
    • You have a proven ability to cooperate with and inspire a team of professionals.
    • You have strong connections with organisational and business practice.
    • You have substantial international experience and a network of international contacts.
    • You have excellent English and Dutch language skills and/or a willingness to learn Dutch.

Research in the above-mentioned domains is centred within the Institute for Management Research (IMR) and is carried out in interdisciplinary research groups: the Hot Spots. NSM currently has 350 FTE staff and approximately 5,000 students.

    The Department of Business Administration's mission is to educate future leaders in responsible organisation, offering an integral Business Administration programme focusing on societal problems and social processes in organisations. Our interdisciplinary Responsible Organisation research programme addresses the multiple values underlying responsibility, the conditions required to realise those values, and the interventions geared to the transition of organisations towards responsible organisations. We co-create knowledge with multiple stakeholders in the wider community to ensure the impact of our scholarly work. The Department is responsible for the BSc programmes in Business Administration (including a full track offered in English, and a track in International Business Administration) as well as eight specialisations within the MSc programme in Business Administration (all in English).

    We offer

    • It concerns an employment for 0.8 - 1.0 FTE.
    • The gross monthly salary amounts to a minimum of €3,974 and a maximum of €6,181 based on a 38-hour working week, depending on previous education and number of years of relevant work experience (salary scale 11 or 12).
    • You will receive 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
    • It concerns a temporary employment for 1.5 years with the prospect of a permanent position after positive evaluation.
    • You will be able to use our Dual Career and Family Care Services. Our Dual Career and Family Care Officer can assist you with family-related support, help your partner or spouse prepare for the local labour market, provide customized support in their search for employment and help your family settle in Nijmegen.
    • Working for us means getting extra days off. In case of full-time employment, you can choose between 29 or 41 days of annual leave instead of the legally allotted 20.
