    ASSISTANT F&B MANAGER

    The restaurant MAMA MAKAN and its bar are the place to go for an authentic Indonesian all-day-dining experience. Together with the entire team, our #mamaloves taking guests on a culinary journey to Indonesia, experiencing the original dishes reminiscent to the menus on the walls of cafés in Jakarta.


    MAMA MAKAN is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Food & Beverage Manager !

She is looking for the perfect Food & Beverage ambassador with great organizational and leadership skills; someone who adds flavor to the culinary Food & Beverage experience. The Assistant Manager – F&B is a natural motivator and leader: full of energy, loves positive vibes, does not back away from administrative tasks and has an eye for detail. Someone who loves the buzz in the restaurant and events and goes out of their way to make sure that everyone is satisfied; not just the guests, but especially the F&B team as well.


    What does the ROLE entail?

    • Managing the Restaurant, alongside and in the absence of the Restaurant and F&B Manager;
    • Assisting the F&B Manager with creative suggestions and ideas;
    • Maintaining a strong authentic presence on the floor;
    • Leading and coaching the team towards exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results;
    • Frequently verifying that only fresh products are used in food and beverage preparation;
    • Having thorough knowledge and understanding of all menu items, and the ability to recommend combinations and upsell alternatives;
    • Ensuring that the outlets are kept clean and organized, both at the front as well as the back of house;
    • Resolving complaints as appropriate, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction;
    • Ensuring that all associates are trained on all relevant tasks;
    • Participating in the selection of new employees;
    • Assisting in the inventory management and ongoing maintenance of hotel operating equipment and other assets, including establishing par stocks, equipment care and maintenance;
    • Taking responsibility of resolving the discrepancy in beverage inventory and bill settlements;
    • Exposing at all times a positive and motivated attitude and exercising self-control;
    • Assisting in giving employees regular feedback on their job performance where needed.

    Qualifications

    #mamaloves you, because…

    • You have 2+ years’ experience working as Restaurant Supervisor / Assistant Manager in a Hotel;
    • You have a degree in Hospitality / Tourism, or equivalent on-the-job training;
    • You have great language and communication skills in English (and preferably in Dutch);
    • You are encouraging and reassuring, you are a team player and you are all about the team effort;
    • You have experience working with a POS system;
    • You have a flexible schedule, capable of working in evenings, weekends and/or holidays;
    • You are legally allowed to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid work permit for the country (we do not assist with Visa / permit applications).

    The restaurant MAMA MAKAN, its bar and our events spaces are located inside the Hyatt Regency Amsterdam. The hotel features 211 guestrooms, including 13 suites on the beautiful Sarphatistraat in Amsterdam East. A place designed around the power of meaningful connections; a place for dynamic interactions.
