Admissions Officer Bachelor programmes Campus Fryslân
The Admissions Officer will, together with the Admissions Officer Master’s, be in charge of the admissions processes for the degree programmes of Campus Fryslân, with a specific focus on the bachelor’s programmes. You will work closely together with the student recruitment team, to ensure a warm transfer of prospective students from recruitment to application and enrollment. Furthermore you will collaborate with the student administration, to make sure that newly enrolled students will be informed properly about the start of the academic year, and with the facilities department to inform UCF-students about the (on-campus) housing.
The following tasks will be part of the job:
guide prospective students through the application process: from first contact to enrolment
be the first point of contact for prospective students with questions about the bachelor’s programmes and/or the application procedure (email inbox, phone)
plan, prepare and organise the selection interviews for UCF together with other professional and academic staff members
act as point of contact between Campus Fryslân and the (bachelor team of the) Admissions Office of the University of Groningen
support the Admissions Boards (AB) of the bachelor’s programmes and as such draft application summaries for the AB members and prepare decision statements
be responsible for drafting regular updates of enrollment numbers and details
coordinate a student assistant to support with administrative tasks
coordinate the organisation of pre-departure webinars and meet & greet for prospective bachelor students
during ‘low season’ (October - January): provide support in a range of running projects/tasks related to recruitment and/or education administration.
You will be part of the Education Support and Development team, which consists of 7 enthusiastic and committed staff members. Together with the Admissions Officer Master’s you will be dedicated to maintain and optimize the admissions processes of the degree programmes of Campus Fryslân.
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague with demonstrated organisational skills and strong affinity with student affairs.
The ideal candidate has:
completed a bachelor degree at an institute of higher education (hbo/wo)
excellent organisational skills
affinity with student admission and/or recruitment and student affairs
having worked in a similar position in higher education is an added value, yet not a requirement
the ability to work in a dynamic situation while maintaining attention to detail
excellent written and oral communication skills in Dutch and English
the ability to relate to a wide range of audiences from different cultural backgrounds
developed sensitivity to privacy and security matters when dealing with personal information from applicants.

Campus Fryslân currently offers one Bachelor and five Master degree programmes in Leeuwarden. The largest programme is the Bachelor Global Responsibility & Leadership of the University College Fryslân (UCF). A new bachelor programme in Data Science & Society will start in September 2022. Our research institute covers five research domains (‘flagships’): Governance, Sustainable Economy, Language, Technology & Culture, Sustainable Health and Knowledge Infrastructures. There is a vibrant and growing PhD community at the Graduate School of Campus Fryslân, distributed over the different flagships. Our scientific and professional staff (± 65 FTE) work closely together in a true academic community, to fulfill Campus Fryslân’s mission based on everyone’s individual expertise and dedication.
Due to the start of a new degree programme, the restructuring of the organization of our recruitment and admissions activities and sick leave of one of our colleagues we are looking for an Admissions Officer for the Bachelor’s programmes. UCF offers a distinctive programme with admission via a two-step selection procedure. This means the majority of the work will likely be for the college.
Conditions of employment
We offer you in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:
a salary depending on qualifications and work experience of minimum € 3,098 and maximum € 4,257 gross per month (salary scale 9) for a full-time position
excluding 8% holiday allowance and 8,3% end-of-year bonus and participation in a pension scheme for employees
minimum of 29 holidays and additional 12 holidays in case of full-time employment.
The contract for this position will initially run for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of an extension. By the end of the first year, an evaluation will take place to decide upon the extension.
