Financial Administrator - Accounts Payable (AFAS)
Location: Amsterdam Central Station and from home
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
As Financial Administrator at the RIPE NCC, you will be responsible for the full accounts payable administration, from operation to improvements. Your mission is to ensure the accuracy, reliability and integrity of the accounts payable administration in AFAS. We are looking for someone with proven experience in a financial department. Experience in accounting, monthly closing and understanding of other functional finance areas is a plus.
This role will touch on all aspect of the Finance Department by being an essential part of the monthly and yearly closing processes. In this position, you will combine operational accounts payable activities with tactical and strategic projects regarding continuous improvement. You will play a key role in driving change and efficiency.
In this role, you will:
Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner
Ensure accounts payable is up to date and continuously improved within AFAS
Provide essential support to suppliers with regard to timely payment and problem solving
Provide excellent member and internal support experience
Work cross-departmentally and with different stakeholders
Support operational metrics reporting
Drive process optimisation through simplification, standardisation and automation
What we expect from you:
A minimum of 4 years of Accounts Payable experience
Experience with AFAS is a must
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
Fluency in Dutch and English is a must
Accountability, proactivity and ownership
You are accurate, analytical and have perfect communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
Affinity for developing internal control, policies and procedures
Experience with the monthly closing process is a definite plus
Experience with AFAS change projects, Insite, workflows and settings is a definite plus

Our international team of seven colleagues is responsible for part of the RIPE NCC’s Finances, from procurement to outgoing payments and from invoicing to collecting money, as well as internal control, management information and risk.

Each team member is involved in all aspects of the Finance Department, as our monthly closing process is a full team effort.

We are looking for an independent worker who can ensure smooth accounts payable while keeping the team updated. If time permits, this function will provide the freedom to run interdepartmental projects and change initiatives.
