    Accounting Manager

    • TEAM STRUCTURE
    As the Accounting Manager, you are the team coach of the centralized accounting team of the Odyssey Hotel Group and your direct supervisor will be our VP Finance. You will collaborate with our finance team located in Utrecht as well as the controllers within the hotels, to exchange information, improve accounting processes and facilitate information that will provide transparency in the numbers allowing stakeholders to improve the business.

    • IN THIS POSITION YOU ARE
    The Accounting Manager is THE key role for the Centralized Accounting Department since you are responsible for managing and overseeing the operations of the accounting department. It supports nearly all hotels within our portfolio, as well as the group entities and our development entities.

    Naturally, you love numbers and you love hotels. You have an analytical and vibrant personality and you think in solutions. You are not afraid of challenges, you actually like them as they energize you!

    You have a passion for both hospitality and finance, you are highly motivated, pro-active, and have a hands-on mentality. You are responsible for coordinating, planning, and monitoring the daily and monthly operations within the accounting department. As we expect to open many more hotels soon, the department will grow as well.

    • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Be a mentor for the team.
    • Recruits and hires accounting members and conducts performance evaluations.
    • Driving team performance and getting the most out of individual contributors. Encourage the team by manager performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.

    Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Manage and oversee the (daily) operations of the accounting department including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit and general cashiering tasks, month and year-end processes.
    • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce timely and accurate financial reports/statements
    • Support and make improvements by developing and implementing systems.
    • Apply your comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and confidently oversee the financial operations, all according to USALI.
    • Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions. Follow up on standard financial operating procedures and policies and make recommendations for improvements. Quarterly review of the ICQ processes.
    • Provides all needed information and support with quarterly and year-end financial (external) audits.
    • Assign projects and guide the team to ensure compliance and accuracy.
    • Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.

    • SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
    A. TECHNICAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management or bachelor/MSc in Business Administration
    • Relevant professional experience at a centralized accounting department and/or in the hotel industry
    • Knowledge of the accounting and regulatory environment that affect accounting and applicable taxes
    • Strong prioritization skills and feel comfortable taking initiative in order to deliver results.
    • Good communication in Dutch and German would be preferred
    • Must be fluent in English (both in writing and speaking)
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (former Navision) and/or Fairmas and/or Power BI and/or PMS Opera is a plus
